Accessibility Statement

A House everyone can enter

This website is built to be used by as many people as possible, however they browse.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We test the site ourselves; it has not been audited by an outside organisation.

What has been built in

  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible gold outline showing where you are, and a "Skip to content" link on every page.
  • Pages use proper headings and landmarks, and every form field has a label, so screen readers can find their way.
  • Every photograph of a piece has a written description.
  • Errors in forms are listed at the top and next to the field, in words, not only in colour.
  • Text is set to be readable against its background, and the site works when you zoom to 200%.
  • Movement follows your device's "reduce motion" setting, and the footer has its own Reduce motion switch.
  • Buttons and links are large enough to tap comfortably on a phone.

Known limitations

Photographs are of real handmade pieces, so fine detail can be hard to see; the written description and the facts on each piece's page say what the photographs show. Payment itself happens on Stripe's checkout page, which is run by Stripe rather than by us.

If something gets in your way

Tell us through Contact Us. Say which page, and what happened. Sancia reads every message herself and will help you place an order another way if the website is stopping you.
